حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ قَالَ ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو قَتَادَةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا مِسْعَرٌ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَقْمَرِ عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي حَتَّى تَرِمَ قَدَمَاهُ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدْ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ قَالَ «أَفَلَا أَكُونُ عَبْدًا شَكُورًا»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to pray until his ankles would swell. It was said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, Allah has forgiven you for what you have done in the past and what you will do in the future." He replied, "Shall I not be a grateful servant?"
