حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ضِرَارُ بْنُ صُرَدٍ ووَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَبْيَضَ قَدْ شَابَ وَكَانَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ يُشْبِهُهُ فَأَمَرَ لَنَا بِاثْنَيْ عَشَرَ قَلُوصًا فَذَهَبْنَا نَقْبِضُهَا فَأَتَيْنَا وَفَاتَهُ فَلَمْ يُعْطُونَا شَيْئًا فَلَمَّا قَامَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عِدَةٌ فَلْيَجِئْ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَأَمَرَ لَنَا بِهَا

✧ I saw the Prophet ﷺ, white-haired and graying, and al-Hasan b. Ali resembled him. He ordered for us twelve young she-camels, so we went to collect them, but his death came to us, and they gave us nothing. When Abu Bakr stood up, he said, 'Whoever has a promise owed by the Messenger of God ﷺ, let him come forward.' I informed him, and he ordered them for us.
