حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ السِّمْسَارُ قَالَ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْأَبْطَحِ فَقُلْتُ لَأَحْفَظَنَّ كَيْفَ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْيَوْمَ فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فَخَرَجَ بِفَضْلِ وَضُوءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَابْتَدَرَهُ النَّاسُ فَمِنْ بَيْنِ آخِذٍ وَنَاضِحٍ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فَأَخْرَجَ عَنَزَةً فَرَكَزَهَا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ حَمْرَاءُ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَيَاضِ سَاقَيْهِ مِنْ وَرَائِهَا فَأَقَامَ بِلَالٌ الصَّلَاةَ وَتَقَدَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَصَفَنَّا خَلْفَهُ فَصَلَّى بِنَا وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ وَالْكَلْبُ

✧ "I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at al-Abṭaḥ. I said, 'I will certainly observe how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prays today.' Bilāl went out, then entered and came out with the leftover water from the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. People rushed to it, some taking from it and others being sprinkled. Then he went in and brought out a short spear and planted it in the ground. Then the Prophet ﷺ came out wearing a red ḥulla, as if I were looking at the whiteness of his shins from behind it. Bilāl called the iqāma, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stepped forward while we lined up behind him. He led us in prayer while a donkey, a woman, and a dog were in front of him."
