حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ فِي الْأَبْطَحِ فِي قُبَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ فَقَالَ لَنَا مِمَّنْ أَنْتُمْ قُلْنَا مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ قَالَ فَأَنَا مِنْكُمْ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ بِلَالٌ وَوَضَعَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ طَهُورًا ثُمَّ أَذَّنَ وَوَضَعَ أُصْبُعَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ وَاسْتَدَارَ فِي أَذَانِهِ ورَكَزَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَنَزَةً فَصَلَّى إِلَيْهَا فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ائْتُونِي بِالْمَدِينَةِ» وَوَعَدَنَا سُلْتًا فَأَتَيْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ فَوَجَدْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ مَاتَ فَأَتَيْنَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَأَنْجِزْ مَا وَعَدَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was at al-Abtah in a red dome with a group from Banu Amir. He said to us, “Which tribe are you from?” We said, “From Banu Amir.” He said, “Then I am from you.” Then Bilal came out, placed water for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to purify himself, then called the adhan, putting his fingers in his ears and turning around during his adhan. He fixed a spear for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he prayed facing it. He prayed Zuhr as two rak‘ahs and Asr as two rak‘ahs. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, “Come to me in Madinah,” and promised us some barley. We came to Madinah and found that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had died, so we came to Abu Bakr and asked him to fulfill what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had promised us.
