حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قِيرَاطٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ قَالَ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَقْدِسِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ قَالَتْ

كَانَ أَبِي إِذَا صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ جَلَسَ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ لَا يَتَكَلَّمُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَرُبَّمَا كَلَّمْتُهُ فِي الْحَاجَةِ فَلَا يُكَلِّمُنِي فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ مِائَةَ مَرَّةً قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَكَلَّمَ فَكُلَّمَا قَرَأَ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُ سَنَةٍ»

✧ My father, when he prayed the morning prayer, would sit facing the qiblah and not speak until the sun rose. Perhaps I would speak to him about some need, and he would not answer me. I said: What is this? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever prays the morning prayer, then recites "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad" one hundred times before speaking, then every time he recites "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad," a year's sins are forgiven for him.'
