حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ جُنَاحٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ «اللهُمَّ إِنَّ فُلَانًا فِي ذِمَّتَكَ وَحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ فَقِهْ فِتْنَةَ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابَ النَّارِ إِنَّكَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَالْحَقِّ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say in his funeral prayer over a Muslim man: "O God, so-and-so is in Your protection and under the rope of Your shelter, so protect him from the trial of the grave and the punishment of the Fire, for You are worthy of faithfulness and truth. O God, forgive him and have mercy on him, for You are the Forgiving, the Merciful."
