حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنِي مُبَشِّرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ لَقِيتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ فَقُلْتُ مَا أَعْمَلَنِي إِلَى الشَّامِ غَيْرُكَ فَحَدِّثْنِي مِمَّا

سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ ارْحَمْنَا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَنَهَانَا أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ إِلَى الْقُبُورِ أَوْ نَجْلِسَ عَلَيْهَا»

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, “O God, have mercy on us and forgive us,” and he forbade us to pray toward graves or sit on them.
