حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثَنَا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْعَدَوِيِّ أَنَّهُ أَرْسَلَ غُلَامًا لَهُ بِصَاعٍ فَقَالَ

بِعْهُ ثُمَّ اشْتَرِ بِهِ شَعِيرًا فَذَهَبَ الْغُلَامُ فَأَخَذَ صَاعًا وَزِيَادَةَ بَعْضِ صَاعٍ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ مَعْمَرٌ خَبَّرَهُ بِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ مَعْمَرٌ لِمَ فَعَلْتَ؟ انْطَلِقْ فَرُدَّهُ لَا تَأْخُذَنَّ إِلَّا مِثْلاً بِمِثْلٍ فَإِنِّي كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «الطَّعَامُ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ» وَكَانَ طَعَامَنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ الشَّعِيرُ فَقِيلَ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِثْلَهُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يُضَارِعَ الرِّبَا

✧ "Sell it, then buy barley with it." The boy went and took a sa' and some of a sa' extra. When he came, Ma'mar informed him of that, and Ma'mar said, "Why did you do that? Go and return it. Do not take except like for like, for I used to hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Food, like for like.' And our food that day was barley." It was said, "It is not like it." He said, "I fear that it may resemble riba."
