حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ الْمُغِيرَةَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةٍ «فَانْطَلَقَ لِحَاجَةٍ فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ بِإِدَاوَةٍ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ جُبَّةٍ عَلَيْهِ ضَيِّقَةُ الْكُمَّيْنِ فَأَخْرَجَهُمَا مِنْ تَحْتِهَا فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ»

✧ I heard al-Mughira while he was delivering a sermon on the pulpit, saying: We went out with the Messenger of God ﷺ on a campaign. 'He went off for a need, and I followed him with a water vessel. He brought out his hands from a jubbah he was wearing that had narrow sleeves, and he brought them out from beneath it. He washed his face and hands, wiped his head, and wiped over his leather socks.'
