حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا ابْنُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْقَزَّازُ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ الْأَوْدِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ
بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى نَجْرَانَ فَقَالُوا لِي فِيمَا قَالُوا كَانَتْ فِيمَا تَقْرَؤُونَ {يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ} قَدْ كَانَ بَيْنَ مُوسَى وَبَيْنَ عِيسَى مَا قَدْ عَلِمْتُمْ؟ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ «أَفَلَا أَخْبَرْتَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَمَّوْنَ بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ وبَالصَّالِحِينَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا قَبْلَهُمْ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ sent me to Najran. They said to me, among what they said, 'According to what you recite, {O sister of Harun}, there was between Musa and 'Isa what you know.' He said: So I came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. He said, 'Would you not have informed them that they used to be named with their names and with the names of the righteous who came before them?'
