حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ صَاحِبُ الْمَغَازِي ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مَرْحَبٍ قَالَ
نَزَلَ فِي قَبْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَرْبَعَةٌ أَحَدُهُمْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ وَقَدْ كَانَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ يُدْعَى أَحْدَثَ النَّاسِ عَهْدًا بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَكُونُ آخِرَ النَّاسِ بِهِ عَهْدًا

✧ Four descended into the grave of the Messenger of God ﷺ, one of them 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf. Al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah used to be called the one with the most recent contact with the Messenger of God ﷺ. So I will be the last of the people to have contact with him.
