حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ كُلْثُومِ بِنْتُ عَلِيٍّ وَأَتَيْتُهَا بِصَدَقَةٍ كَانَ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَقَالَتْ
احْذَرْ شَبَابَنَا فَإِنَّ مَيْمُونًا أَوْ مِهْرَانًا مَوْلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَا مَيْمُونُ أَوْ مِهْرَانُ إِنَّا أَهْلُ بَيْتٍ نُهِينَا عَنِ الصَّدَقَةِ وَإِنَّ مَوَالِينَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا فَلَا تَأْكُلِ الصَّدَقَةَ»
Translation

✧ Beware of our youth. Maymun or Mihran, the freed slave of the Prophet ﷺ, informed me that he passed by the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "O Maymun – or Mihran – we are a household forbidden from receiving charity, and our freed slaves are from ourselves, so do not consume charity."
