حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ أَبِيهِ مُطَاعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ مُطَاعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ جَدِّهِ مَسْعُودٍ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سَمَّاهُ مُطَاعًا وَقَالَ لَهُ «يَا مُطَاعُ أَنْتَ مُطَاعٌ فِي قَوْمِكَ» وَقَالَ لَهُ «امْضِ إِلَى أَصْحَابِكَ» وَحَمَلَهُ عَلَى فَرَسٍ أَبْلَقَ وَأَعْطَاهُ الرَّايَةَ وَقَالَ «مَنْ دَخَلَ تَحْتَ رايَتِي هَذِهِ فَقَدْ أَمِنَ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ»

✧ That the Prophet ﷺ named him Muta' and said to him: 'O Muta', you are obeyed among your people.' And he said to him: 'Go to your companions,' and he mounted him on a piebald horse and gave him the banner, saying: 'Whoever enters under this banner of mine is safe from punishment.'
