حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ بُكَيْرًا يَقُولُ
سَمِعْتُ مُهَاجِرًا مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ يَقُولُ خَدَمْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سِنِينَ فَلَمْ يَقُلْ لِي لِشَيْءٍ صَنَعْتُهُ لِمَ صَنَعْتَهُ؟ وَلَا لِشَيْءٍ تَرَكْتُهُ لِمَ تَرَكْتَهُ؟ قَالَ ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ «بُكَيْرٌ هَذَا الَّذِي هُوَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ هُوَ جَدِّي»

✧ I heard Muhajir, the freed slave of Umm Salamah, say: 'I served the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for years, and he never said to me about anything I did, "Why did you do it?" nor about anything I left, "Why did you leave it?"' Ibn Bukayr said: 'This Bukayr mentioned in the hadith is my grandfather.'
