حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ ضَمْضَمِ بْنِ زُرْعَةَ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَكُونُ رَجُلٌ عَلَى قَوْمٍ إِلَّا جَاءَ يَقْدُمُهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ رَايَةٌ يَحْمِلُهَا وَهُمْ يَتَّبِعُونَهُ فَيُسْأَلُ عَنْهُمْ وَيُسْأَلُونَ عَنْهُ»

✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: “There is no man placed over a people except that he will come on the Day of Resurrection leading them with a banner before him that he carries, and they follow him. He will be asked about them, and they will be asked about him.”
