حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا وَعَى ابْنُ آدَمَ وِعَاءً شَرًّا مِنْ بَطْنٍ بِحَسْبِ الْمُسْلِمِ أُكُلَاتٍ يُقِمْنَ صُلْبَهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ لَا مَحَالَةَ فَثُلُثًا لِطَعَامِهِ وَثُلُثًا لِشَرَابِهِ وَثُلُثًا لِنَفْسِهِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The son of Adam has not contained a vessel worse than the belly. Sufficient for the Muslim are morsels that keep his back upright. If it must be, then one third for his food, one third for his drink, and one third for himself."
