حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ ثنا أَبِي ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ الْمِقْدَامَ بْنَ مَعْدِي كَرِبٍ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ يَقُولُونَ الْقَضَاءُ فِي مِائَةِ عَامٍ يَعْنُونَ بَعْدَ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ تَكُونُ الْقِيَامَةُ فَقَالَ الْمِقْدَامُ «قَدْ أَكْثَرْتُمْ لَنْ يَعْجَزَ اللهُ أَنْ يُؤَخِّرَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةَ نِصْفَ يَوْمٍ» يَعْنِي خَمْسَمِائَةِ عَامٍ

✧ I heard al-Miqdām b. Maʿdī Karib, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while most people were saying, "The decree is in one hundred years," meaning after one hundred years the Resurrection will occur. Al-Miqdām said, "You have said too much. Allah will not be unable to delay this community half a day," meaning five hundred years.
