حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زُغْبَةَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ كُنْتُ فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ يَقُولُ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ كَلِمَتَانِ إِحْدَاهُمَا لَيْسَ لَهَا نَاهِيَةٌ دُونَ الْعَرْشِ وَالْأُخْرَى تَمْلَأُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ لِابْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَبَكَى عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَتَّى اخْتَضَبَتْ لِحْيَتُهُ بِدُمُوعِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «هُمَا كَلِمَتَانِ نَعْلَقُهُما وَنَأْلَفُهُمَا»

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Two phrases, one of which has no barrier before the Throne, and the other fills what is between heaven and earth: 'There is no god but Allah' and 'Allah is the Greatest.'" Ibn 'Umar said to Ibn Abi 'Amra, "Did you hear him say that?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Then 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar wept until his beard was dyed with his tears." Then he said, "They are two phrases that we hold onto and love."
