حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا عِصْمَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْخَزَّازُ ثنا حَازِمٌ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ عَنْ لُمَازَةَ عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ
شَهِدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِمْلَاكَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ «عَلَى الْخَيْرِ وَالْأُلْفَةِ وَالطَّائِرِ الْمَيْمُونِ وَالسَّعَةِ فِي الرِّزْقِ بَارِكَ اللهُ لَكُمْ دَفِّفُوا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ» فَجِئَ بِدُفٍّ فَضُرِبَ بِهِ فَأَقْبَلَتِ الْأَطْبَاقُ وَعَلَيْهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَسُكَّرٍ فَنُثِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَكَفَّ النَّاسُ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنْتَهِبُونَ؟» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَوَلَمْ تَنْهَ عَنِ النُّهْبَةِ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ نُهْبَةِ الْعَسَاكِرِ فَأَمَّا الْعُرُسَاتِ فَلَا» قَالَ فَجَاذَبَهُمْ وَجَاذَبُوهُ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ attended the marriage contract of a man among his companions and said to him: “Upon goodness and harmony, a blessed bird, and abundance in provision. May God bless you all. Play the tambourine over his head.” A tambourine was brought and struck, and trays bearing fruit and sugar were brought and scattered over him. The people withheld their hands, so the Messenger of God ﷺ said: “What is the matter with you that you do not snatch?” They said: O Messenger of God, did you not forbid snatching? He said: “I only forbade you from snatching from military expeditions; as for wedding feasts, no.” He said: Then he pulled it away from them and they pulled it away from him.
