حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْخَبَائِرِيُّ ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ثنا ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الِاحْتِكَارِ مَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ «إِذَا سَمِعَ بِرُخْصٍ سَاءَهُ وَإِذَا سَمِعَ بِغَلَاءٍ فَرِحَ بِهِ بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ الْمُحْتَكِرُ إِنْ أَرْخَصَ اللهُ الْأَسْعَارَ حَزِنَ وَإِنْ أَغْلَاهَا اللهُ فَرِحَ»

✧ I asked the Messenger of God ﷺ about hoarding, what it is. He said: “When he hears of reduced prices it grieves him, and when he hears of high prices he rejoices at it. What an evil servant is the hoarder: if God lowers prices he is sad, and if God raises them he rejoices.”
