✧ He informed him that they went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Tabuk. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to combine Zuhr and ‘Asr and Maghrib and ‘Isha’ together. He said: One day he delayed the prayer, then came out and prayed Zuhr and ‘Asr together, then entered, then came out and prayed Maghrib and ‘Isha’ together. Then he said: “Tomorrow, if Allah wills, you will come to the spring of Tabuk. You will reach it at mid-morning, so whoever reaches it must not touch any of its water until I come.” He said: We arrived, and two men had already reached it before us. The spring was like a sandal strap, trickling with a little water. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked them: “Did you touch any of its water?” They said: Yes. He rebuked them and said to them whatever Allah willed him to say. Then they scooped a little water from the spring with their hands until it collected in something, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ washed his face and hands in it, then poured it back into the spring. The spring then flowed with abundant water and the people drew water. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Soon, O Mu‘adh, if you live long enough, you will see this place filled with jinn.” This is what al-Dabarī said, and he erred; it is only “filled with gardens.”
