حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُقْبِلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّ هِشَامَ بْنَ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَخَوَيْنِ مِنْ بَنِي الْمُغِيرَةِ حَلَفَ أَحَدُهُمَا بِالْعِتْقِ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ أَنْ لَا يَدَعَهُ يَضَعُ خَشَبَةً فِي جِدَارِهِ فَلَقِيَا مُجَمِّعَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ وَرِجَالًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالُوا نَشْهَدُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَمْنَعُ جَارٌ جَارَهُ أَنْ يَضَعَ خَشَبَةً فِي جِدَارِهِ» فَقَالَ يَا أَخِي قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّهُ مَقْضِيٌّ لَكَ عَلِيَّ فَلِمَ اتَّخَذْتَ أَسَاطِينَ دُونَ جِدَارِي؟ فَاتَّخَذَ أَسَاطِينَ قَالَ عَمْرُو وَأَنَا رَأَيْتُ تِلْكَ الْأَسَاطِينَ

✧ He informed him that two brothers from the Banu al-Mughirah, one of them swore an oath of manumission against his companion that he would not let him place a wooden beam in his wall. They then met Mujammi‘ b. Yazid and some men from the Ansar, who said, “We bear witness that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: ‘A neighbor shall not prevent his neighbor from placing a wooden beam in his wall.’” So he said, “O my brother, I have come to know that it has been decreed in your favor against me, so why did you set up pillars instead of against my wall?” And he set up pillars. ‘Amr said, “And I saw those pillars.”
