✧ A tree struck the Prophet’s ﷺ finger and it bled. He said: “It is nothing but a finger that bled, and what it suffered is in the path of Allah.” Then he was carried and placed on a bed woven with palm fronds or a strap, and a leather cushion stuffed with palm fiber was placed under his head. The strap left marks on his side. Then Umar b. al-Khattab came and wept. He said: “What makes you weep?” He replied: “O Messenger of Allah, Kisra and Caesar sit on golden beds and wear silk brocade and heavy silk.” He said: “Are you not pleased that they have this world and you have the Hereafter?”
