✧ indeed, there was a man among those who came before you, whom Allah blessed with wealth and children until he passed away. When death approached him, he asked his family, 'What kind of man was I to you?' They replied, 'You were a good man.' He said, 'I will remove all that I have given you, or you will do as I command you to.' They said, 'We will do as you commanded.' He said, 'If I die, burn me in the fire. And if I turn into ashes, crush me and scatter me on a windy day.' Allah then called him as He had done before, and asked him, 'What caused you to do what you did?' He replied, 'Fear of You, O Lord.' So, Allah forgave him.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ثنا شِبْلُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا قَزَعَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَمْرَو بْنَ دِينَارٍ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا حَقُّ زَوْجَةِ أَحَدِنَا عَلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ «تُطْعِمُهَا إِذَا طَعِمْتَ وَتَكْسُوهَا إِذَا اكْتَسَيْتَ وَلَا تَضْرِبِ الْوَجْهَ وَلَا تُقَبِّحْهُ وَلَا تَهْجُرْ إِلَّا فِي الْبَيْتِ»
