حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا عَدِيُّ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا قَوْمٌ نَتَسَاءَلُ أَمْوَالَنَا بَيْنَنَا فَقَالَ «لِيَسْأَلْ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْحَاجَةِ وَالْفِتَنِ لِيُصْلِحَ بَيْنَ قَوْمِهِ فَإِذَا بَلَغَ أَوْ كَرَبَ اسْتَعَفَّ»

Translation

  4. Bahz b. Ḥakīm from his father from his grandfather

✧ I said: O Messenger of Allah, we are a people who ask one another for our wealth among ourselves. He said: "One of you may ask in cases of need and strife, to set things right between his people, but when it reaches the point of pressing need or near destitution, he should abstain."
