حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةََ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مِنَّا رِجَالٌ يَتَطَيَّرُونَ فَقَالَ «ذَاكَ شَيْءٌ تَجِدُونَهُ فِي صُدُورِكُمْ فَلَا يَضُرَّكُمْ» قُلْتُ وَمِنَّا رِجَالٌ يَأْتُونَ الْكُهَّانَ قَالَ «فَلَا تَأْتُوهُمْ» قُلْتُ وَمِنَّا رِجَالٌ يَخُطُّونَ قَالَ «خَطَّ نَبِيٌّ فَمَنْ وَافَقَ عَلِمَهُ عَلِمَ»

✧ I said: O Messenger of God, among us are men who practice tiyara. He said: "That is something you find in your chests, so it will not harm you." I said: And among us are men who go to soothsayers. He said: "Do not go to them." I said: And among us are men who draw lines. He said: "A prophet drew lines, so whoever's line coincides with his knowledge, he knows."
