حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَعْنَى ثنا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَكَانَ قَلِيلَ الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى أَخْرَجَ ذُرِّيَّةَ آدَمَ مِنْ صُلْبِهِ حَتَّى مَلَؤُا الْأَرْضَ وَكَانُوا هَكَذَا» فَضَمَّ جَعْفَرٌ يَدَيْهِ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَلَى الْأُخْرَى

Translation

✧ I heard Muʿāwiyah on the pulpit, and he narrated little from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Allah, exalted is He, brought forth the progeny of Adam from his loins until they filled the earth, and they were like this.” Jaʿfar clasped his hands, one over the other.
