حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ثنا جُنْدُبٌ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ بِخَمْسٍ يَقُولُ «قَدْ كَانَ لِي مِنْكُمْ إِخْوَةٌ وأَصْدِقَاءُ وَإِنِّي أَبْرَأُ إِلَى اللهِ أَنْ يَكُونَ لِي مِنْكُمْ خَلِيلٌ وَلَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا مِنْ أُمَّتِي لَاتَّخَذْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ خَلِيلًا وَإِنَّ رَبِّي ﷻ قَدِ اتَّخَذَنِي خَلِيلًا كَمَا اتَّخَذَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلًا أَلَا وَإِنَّ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ كَانُوا يَتَّخِذُونَ قُبُورَ أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ وَصَالِحِيهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ فَلَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْقُبُورَ مَسَاجِدَ فَإِنِّي أَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ»

✧ He heard the Prophet ﷺ five [days] before his death saying: 'I had among you brothers and friends, and I declare myself free to God from having any intimate friend among you. If I were to take an intimate friend from my community, I would have taken Abu Bakr as an intimate friend. Indeed, my Lord ﷻ has taken me as an intimate friend just as He took Abraham as an intimate friend. Indeed, those before you used to take the graves of their prophets and righteous ones as places of worship, so do not take graves as places of worship, for I forbid you from that.'
