حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا مُجَمِّعُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ إِذَا كَبَّرَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ اثْنَتَيْنِ كَبَّرَ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَإِذَا شَهِدَ اثْنَتَيْنِ شَهِدَ اثْنَتَيْنِ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيَّ فَقَالَ هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ عِنْدَ الْأَذَانِ

✧ I heard Muʿāwiyah: when the muʾadhdhin said the takbīr twice, he said the takbīr twice; and when he bore witness twice, he bore witness twice. Then he turned to me and said, “This is how I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say at the adhān.”
