حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ حَمْدَوَيْهِ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا وُهَيْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ قَالَ جَاءَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ الْحُوَيْرِثِ فِي مَسْجِدِنَا فَصَلَّى بِنَا فَقَالَ

إِنِّي لِأُصَلِّي بِكُمْ وَلَا أُرِيدُ الصَّلَاةَ وَلَكِنْ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُرِيَكُمْ كَيْفَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي قَالَ أَيُّوبُ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي قِلَابَةَ كَيْفَ كَانَتْ صَلَاتُهُ؟ قَالَ كَصَلَاةِ شَيْخِنَا عَمْرِو بْنِ سَلَمَةَ وَكَانَ الشَّيْخُ يُتِمُّ التَّكْبِيرَ وَكَانَ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى اعْتَمَدَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ قَامَ

Translation

✧ "I am going to lead you in prayer, but I do not intend the prayer; I only want to show you how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray." Ayyūb said: I asked Abū Qilābah, "How was his prayer?" He said, "Like the prayer of our shaykh, ʿAmr b. Salamah. The shaykh would complete the takbirs, and when he raised his head from the first rakʿah he would lean on the ground and then stand."
