حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْجَنَدِيُّ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَأَنَا قَشِفُ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ لِي «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْغَنَمِ وَالرَّقِيقِ قَالَ «فَهَلَّا يُرَى عَلَيْكَ»

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ in a shabby condition. He said to me, “Do you have any wealth?” I said, “Yes, camels, sheep, and slaves.” He said, “Then why is it not visible upon you?”
