حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ قَالَ

دَخَلَ أَبِي عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي ثِيَابِ أَسْمَالٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» قَالَ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَقَرِ وَالْغَنَمِ قَالَ «فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ مَا آتَاكَ اللهُ»

Translation

✧ My father entered upon the Prophet ﷺ in patched garments. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Do you have any wealth?" He said, "Of every kind of wealth. Allah has granted me camels, cattle, and sheep." He said, "Then let what Allah has granted you be seen on you."
