al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 16568

✧ The orphan of Rabi'ah b. 'Abd al-'Uzza b. 'Abd Shams b. 'Abd Manaf, known as Abu al-'As, the son-in-law of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and there was a difference in his name, some called him Mihsham and some called him al-Qasim.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَحَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَوْضِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقَطِرَانِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالُوا ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَوْسٍ عَنْ أبِي رَزِينٍ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَبِي شَيْخٌ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ وَلَا الظَّعْنَ قَالَ «حِجَّ عَنْ أبِيكَ وَاعْتَمِرْ» «وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ»

✧ I said, "O Messenger of Allah, my father is old and cannot perform Hajj, Umrah, or carry a burden." He ﷺ said, "Perform Hajj and Umrah on behalf of your father and carry the burden for him." "And the wording is from the hadith of Ali ibn Abdul Aziz."
