حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ

مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِكَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ وَقَدْ آذَاهُ هَوَامُّ رَأْسِهِ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَحْلِقَ فَجَاءَهُ الْوَحْيُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَرَقًا بَيْنَ سِتَّةِ مَسَاكِينٍ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَاذْبَحْ شَاةً»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by Ka'b b. Ujrah when the vermin of his head had troubled him. He commanded him to shave. Then revelation came to him, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "If you wish, fast three days; if you wish, give a faraq to be divided among six needy people; or if you wish, slaughter a sheep."
