حَدَّثَنَا وَرَدُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ نَمِرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَهُ

أَنَّ أَبَاهُ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ كَانَ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ» إِذَا قَدِمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ بَدَأَ بِالْمَسْجِدِ فَرَكَعَ فِيهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ لِلنَّاسِ فِي فُتْيَاهُمْ وَمَسَائِلِهِمْ فِيمَا بَدَا لَهُ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ

✧ That his father, Ka'b b. Malik al-Ansari, used to say: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he arrived from a journey, would begin with the mosque, pray two rak'ahs in it, then sit for the people regarding their legal rulings and their questions, for as long as it seemed appropriate to him to sit."
