al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 16133

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ ثنا قَتَادَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ هِشَامِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ

لَمَّا عَقَدَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى قَوْمِي أَخَذْتُ يَدَهُ فَوَدَّعْتُهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «جَعَلَ اللهُ التَّقْوَى زَادَكَ وَغَفَرَ ذَنْبِكَ وَوَجَّهَكَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ حَيْثُ مَا يَكُونُ»

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ appointed me over my people, I took his hand and bade him farewell. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “May God make piety your provision, forgive your sin, and direct you toward good wherever you may be.”
