حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ ثَنَا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ ثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ جَمَّازٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثَنَا المِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَطَرٍ ثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ جَمَّازٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي كَاهِلٍ

أنَّهُ قَالَ مَرَرْتُ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدْ أَعْطَانَا اللهُ مِنْكَ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ تَمَضْمَضَ ثَلَاثًا وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثَلَاثًا وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَذِرَاعَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ وَلَمْ يُوَقِّتْ وَظَهْرَ قَدَمَيْهِ وَلَمْ يُوَقِّتْ ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا أَبَا كَاهِلٍ ضَعِ الطُّهُورَ مَوَاضِعَهُ وَابْقِ فَضْلَ طُهُورِكَ لِأَهْلِكَ لَا تُعَطِّشْ أَهْلَكَ وَلَا تَشْقُقْ عَلَى خَادِمِكَ»

✧ He said: I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was performing ablution, and I said: O Messenger of Allah, Allah has given us much good through you. He washed his palms, then rinsed his mouth three times, and snuffed water three times, washed his face three times, and his forearms three times, and wiped his head without specifying a number, and the tops of his feet without specifying a number. Then he said: "O Abu Kahil, put the purification in its proper places, and keep the leftover water of your purification for your family. Do not leave your family thirsty, and do not burden your servant."
