حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثَنَا فِرْدَوْسُ بْنُ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ثَنَا مَسْعُودُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي غَرَزَةَ قَالَ

خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ نُسَمَّى السَّمَاسِرَةَ فَقَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ التُّجَّارِ إِنَّ هَذَا الْبَيْعَ يَحْضُرُهُ اللَّغْوُ وَالْحَلِفُ فَشُوبُوهُ بِصَدَقَةٍ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us while we were called brokers (al-samāsirah), and he said, “O company of merchants, indeed this selling is attended by idle talk and swearing, so mix it with charity.”
