حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثَنَا طَاهِرُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ نِزَارٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَرْبَى الرِّبَا أَنْ يَسْتَطِيلَ الرَّجُلُ فِي شَتَمِ أَخِيهِ وَإِنَّ أَكْبَرَ الْكَبَائِرِ أَنْ يَشْتِمَ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ قَالُوا وَكَيْفَ يَشْتِمُهُمَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ يَشْتِمُ الرَّجُلَ فَيَشْتِمُهُمَا

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said, “The greatest usury is for a man to overstep in insulting his brother, and the greatest of major sins is for a man to insult his parents.” They said, “How could he insult them, O Messenger of God?” He said, “He insults a man, who then insults them.”
