حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا ضِرَارُ بْنُ صُرَدٍ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ السُّلَمِيِّ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ الْمُعْتَمِرِ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ قَالَ
مُحَمَّدٌ وَلَوْ أَنِّي قُلْتُ إِنِّي قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رِبْعِيٍّ لَصَدَقْتُ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَأُعْطِيَنَّ الرَّايَةَ غَدًا رَجُلًا يُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيُحِبُّهُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ» فَأَعْطَاهَا عَلِيًّا

✧ Muhammad — and if I were to say that I heard it from Ribʿi, I would be truthful — from ʿImran b. Husayn, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I will surely give the banner tomorrow to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and whom Allah and His Messenger love.” Then he gave it to ʿAli.
