حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ سِكِّينٍ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَبُو نَعَامَةَ عَنْ أَبِي السَّوَّارِ الْعَدَوِيِّ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ» فَقَالَ بُشَيْرُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ إِنَّ مِنْهُ ضَعْفًا وَمِنْهُ وَقَارٌ لِلَّهِ فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ لِبَشِيرٍ تَسْمَعُنِي أُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَتَقُولُ مِنْهُ ضَعْفٌ وَمِنْهُ وَقَارٌ وَغَضِبَ فَقَالَ «لَا أُحَدِّثُكُمُ الْيَوْمَ بِحَدِيثٍ»

✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: “Modesty is all good.” Then Bushayr b. Kaʿb said, “Part of it is weakness and part of it is dignity for God.” Imran said to Bashir, “You hear me narrating from the Messenger of God ﷺ and you say, ‘Part of it is weakness and part of it is dignity’?” And he became angry and said, “I will not narrate any hadith to you today.”
