حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ وَابْنُ عَائِشَةَ ح وثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالُوا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ لَهُ فَقَالَ «مَنْ يَكْلَأُنَا اللَّيْلَةَ لَا نَرْقُدُ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ؟» فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ أَنَا فَاسْتَقْبَلَ مَطْلِعَ الشَّمْسِ فَضَرَبَ عَلَى آذَانِهِمْ حَتَّى أَيْقَظَهُمْ حَرُّ الشَّمْسِ ثُمَّ قَامُوا فَقَادُوا رِكَابَهُمْ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّئُوا وَأَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ ثُمَّ صَلَّوْا رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ ثُمَّ صَلَّوُا الْفَجْرَ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was on a journey of his and said, “Who will keep watch over us tonight so that we do not sleep past the dawn prayer?” Bilal said, “I will.” He faced the direction the sun rises, and sleep overcame them until the heat of the sun woke them. Then they got up, led their mounts, performed ablution, and Bilal gave the call to prayer. Then they prayed the two rak‘ahs of dawn, then they prayed the dawn prayer.
