حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي جُبَيْرُ بْنُ مُطْعِمٍ

أَنَّهُ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ يَسِيرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ النَّاسُ مَقْفَلَهُ مِنْ حُنَيْنٍ عَلِقَتِ الْأَعْرَابُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْأَلُونَهُ حَتَّى اضْطَرُّوهُ إِلَى سَمُرَةَ فَخَطِفَتْ رِدَاءَهُ فَوَقَفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَعْطُونِي رِدَائِي لَوْ كَانَ عَدَدُ هَذِهِ الْعِضَاهِ نَعَمًا لَقَسَّمْتُهُ بَيْنَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُونِي بَخِيلًا وَلَا كَذُوبًا وَلَا جَبَانًا»

✧ While he was traveling with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and with him were the people, on his return from Hunayn, the bedouins clung to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asking him until they forced him to a samurah tree, and it snatched his cloak. The Prophet ﷺ stopped and said: 'Give me my cloak. If there were as many livestock as these thorn trees, I would distribute them among you, and then you would not find me stingy, nor a liar, nor cowardly.'
