حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ قَالَا ثنا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ حَثْمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى قَاصٍّ يَقُصُّ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ سَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ وَاسْأَلُوا اللهَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ قَوْمٌ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ يَسْأَلُونَ بِهِ النَّاسَ»

✧ He passed by a storyteller who was telling stories. When he finished, he asked him, and he said: Verily we belong to God and to Him we return. I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: "Recite the Qur’an and ask God by it before a people come who recite the Qur’an and ask people by it."
