حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ قَالَ
قَدِمْتُ الْبَصْرَةَ فَدَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِشَيْخٍ أَبْيَضَ الرَّأْسِ وَاللِّحْيَةِ مُسْتَنِدٍ إِلَى أُسْطُوَانَةٍ حَوْلَهُ حَلْقَةٌ يُحَدِّثُهُمْ قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ

✧ I came to Basra and entered the mosque, and there was an old man with a white head and beard, leaning against a pillar, with a circle of people around him whom he was narrating to. I said: "Who is this?" They said: "Imran b. al-Husayn."
