حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا الْغَلَابِيُّ ثنا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ أَبِي سَوِيَّةَ الْمِنْقَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عِكْرَاشِ بْنِ ذُؤَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
بَعَثَنِي بَنُو مُرَّةَ بِصَدَقَاتِ أَمْوَالِهِمْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَدِمْتُ عَلَيْهِ الْمَدِينَةَ فَوَجَدْتُهُ جَالِسًا بَيْنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ فَقَدِمْتُ عَلَيْهِ بِإِبِلٍ كَأَنَّهَا عُرُوقُ الْأَرْطَى فَقَالَ «مَنِ الرَّجُلُ؟» فَقُلْتُ عِكْرَاشُ بْنُ ذُؤَيْبٍ قَالَ «ارْفَعْ فِي النَّسَبِ» فَقُلْتُ ابْنُ حُرْقُوصٍ بْنُ جَعْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ النَّزَّالِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ وَهَذِهِ صَدَقَاتُ بَنِي مَرَّةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ «هَذِهِ إِبِلُ قَوْمِي هَذِهِ صَدَقَاتُ قَوْمِي» ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُوسَمَ بِمَيْسَمِ إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ وَتُضَمَّ إِلَيْهَا ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَانْطَلَقَ بِي إِلَى مَنْزِلِِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَ هَلْ مِنْ طَعَامٍ؟ فَأُتِينَا بِجَفْنَةٍ كَثِيرَةِ الثَّرِيدِ وَالْوَذْرِ فَأَقْبَلْنَا نَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا فَجَعَلْتُ أَضْبِطُ يَدِي فِي جَوَانِبِهَا فَقَبَضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِهِ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى يَدِي الْيُمْنَى ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا عِكْرَاشُ كُلْ مِنْ مَوْضِعٍ وَاحِدٍ فَإِنَّهُ طَعَامٌ وَاحِدٌ» ثُمَّ أُتِينَا بِطَبَقٍ فِيهِ أَلْوَانٌ مِنْ رُطَبٍ فَجَعَلْتُ آكُلُ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ وَجَالَتْ يَدُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الطَّبَقِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا عِكْرَاشُ كُلْ مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتَ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ لَوْنٍ ثُمَّ أُتِينَا بِمَاءٍ فَغَسَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ بِبَلَلِ كَفَّيْهِ وَجْهَهُ وَذِرَاعَيْهِ وَرَأْسَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا عِكْرَاشُ هَذَا الْوُضُوءُ مِمَّا غَيَّرَتِ النَّارُ»

✧ The Banū Murra sent me with the zakāt of their wealth to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I arrived before him in Madinah and found him sitting among the Emigrants and the Anṣār. I came to him with camels that were like the roots of the arṭā tree. He said, “Who is the man?” I said, “ʿIkrāsh b. Dhuʾayb.” He said, “Trace your lineage upward.” I said, “Son of Ḥurqūṣ b. Jaʿd b. ʿAmr b. al-Nazzāl b. Murra b. ʿUbayd, and these are the zakāt camels of the Banū Murra b. ʿUbayd.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled then said, “These are the camels of my people; this is the zakāt of my people.” Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that they be branded with the brand of zakāt camels and added to them. Then he took my hand and went with me to the house of Umm Salama and said, “Is there any food?” A large bowl with tharīd and meat was brought to us, and we began to eat from it. I began to move my hand around its sides, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed his left hand over my right hand and said, “O ʿIkrāsh, eat from one place, for it is one food.” Then a tray was brought to us containing different kinds of fresh dates. I began eating from what was in front of me, while the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ moved about the tray. Then he said, “O ʿIkrāsh, eat from wherever you wish, for it is not one kind.” Then water was brought to us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ washed his hands and wiped his face, forearms, and head with the moisture of his palms, then said, “O ʿIkrāsh, this is the ablution for what fire has changed.”
