حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ الْجُرْجُسِيُّ ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ثنا بَشِيرُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ دُرَيْكٍ حَدَّثَنِي يَعْلَى بْنُ مُنَبِّهٍ قَالَ
بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَخْرُجُ مَعَكَ عَلَى أَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِي سَهْمًا فِي الْمَغْنَمِ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَاللهِ لَا أَدْرِي أَتَغْنَمُونَ أَمْ لَا تَغْنَمُونَ وَلَكِنِ اجْعَلْ لِي شَيْئًا مَعْلُومًا فَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ ثَلَاثَةَ دَنَانِيرَ فَغَزَوْنَا فَأَصَبْنَا مَغْنَمًا فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا أَجِدُ لَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا دَنَانِيرَهُ هَذِهِ الثَّلَاثَةَ الَّذِي أَخَذَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on a military expedition. A man said, 'I will go out with you on condition that you give me a share of the spoils.' Then he said, 'By Allah, I do not know whether you will gain spoils or not, but give me something fixed.' So I gave him three dinars. We went on the expedition and obtained spoils. I asked the Prophet ﷺ about that, and the Prophet ﷺ said: 'I find for him in this world and the Hereafter nothing but these three dinars that he took.'
