حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ بَحِيرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ أَنَّ سَيْفًا حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ عَوْفَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ فَقَالَ الْمَقْضِيُّ عَلَيْهِ حَسْبِي اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «رُدُّوا عَلَيَّ الرَّجُلَ» فَقَالَ «مَا قُلْتَ؟» فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ يَلُومُ عَلَى الْعَجْزِ وَعَلَيْكَ بِالْكَيْسِ فَإِذَا غَلَبَكَ أَمْرٌ فَقُلْ حَسْبِيَ اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ judged between two men, and the one against whom judgment was given said, 'Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the best disposer of affairs.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Bring the man back to me,' and said, 'What did you say?' So he told him. Then he said: 'Allah blames for incapacity, but you must be diligent. If a matter overwhelms you, say: Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the best disposer of affairs.'
