حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ لِي أَسْمَاءً أَنَا أَحْمَدُ وَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَنَا الْمَاحِي الَّذِي يَمْحُو بِيَ الْكُفْرَ وَأَنَا الْحَاشِرُ الَّذِي يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ عَلَى قَدَمِي وَأَنَا الْعَاقِبُ» قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلزُّهْرِيِّ وَمَا الْعَاقِبُ؟ قَالَ «الَّذِي لَيْسَ بَعْدَهُ نَبِيٌّ ﷺ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: “I have names: I am Ahmad, I am Muhammad, I am al-Māḥī, the one by whom God effaces disbelief, I am al-Ḥāshir, the one at whose feet people will be gathered, and I am al-ʿĀqib.” He said: I asked al-Zuhrī, “What is al-ʿĀqib?” He said: “The one after whom there is no prophet ﷺ.”
