حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ثنا ثَابِتُ الْبُنَانِيُّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَنِي مَحْمُودُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ عِتْبَانَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
أَصَابَنِي فِي بَصَرِي بَعْضُ الشَّيْءِ فَبَعَثَتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنِي تُصَلِّي فِي مَنْزِلِي فَأَتَّخِذَهُ مُصَلًّى فَأَتَانِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَمَنْ شَاءَ اللهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فِي مَنْزِلِي وَأَصْحَابُهُ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَيُذَاكِرُونَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ ثُمَّ أَسْنَدُوا عِظَمَ ذَلِكَ وَكِبَرَهُ إِلَى مَالِكِ بْنِ الدُّخْشُمِ وَدُّوا أَنَّهُ دَعَا عَلَيْهِ فَهَلَكَ وَدُّوا أَنَّهُ أَصَابَهُ شَرٌّ فَقَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الصَّلَاةَ وَقَالَ «أَلَيْسَ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟» قَالُوا أَنَّهُ يَقُولُ ذَاكَ وَمَا هُوَ فِي قَلْبِهِ قَالَ «لَا يَشْهَدُ أَحَدٌ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ فَيَدْخُلُ النَّارَ أَوْ يَطْعَمُهُ النَّارُ»

✧ Something affected my eyesight, so I sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I would like you to come to me and pray in my house so that I may take it as a place of prayer. The Prophet ﷺ came to me with whom Allah willed of his Companions. He entered while he was praying in my house, and his Companions were talking among themselves and mentioning the hypocrites. Then they attributed the most severe and greatest of that to Malik b. al-Dukhshum, wishing that he would supplicate against him and he would perish, wishing that evil would befall him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the prayer and said: "Does he not testify that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" They said: He says that, but it is not in his heart. He said: "No one testifies that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah and then enters the Fire, or the Fire consumes him."
